Why skills of the home?
In generations past, receiving an “inheritance” was not limited to receiving a large sum of money, though that is what many of us might think of when we hear the word. Families before us passed down an inheritance of practical skills, handmade tools, useful and wise advice for running a home or earning their livelihood. Though modernity and technology have made homemaking quite easier for us, I do not believe we should receive this gift as an excuse not to grow in our skills of the home - even those which many machines may now be doing for us. My hope for this space is to leave you with a heritage of skills which will bless your home, build your confidence, and ultimately allow you to “work well to the ways of your household..” (proverbs 31:27) Skills which may not have been given to you, but can through you, be passed down for generations to come.
